Features and Performance
The BC4620 provides virtually anything a rider could want. It even includes a water bottle holder. Engineered with the utmost precision, these bikes are extremely durable and able to withstand years of regular use without any issues.
Featuring a grey and orange design with black accessories, this is a stunning bike.
The bike requires setup, but it will take you just 10 – 15 minutes to do. Mostly, you’ll be attaching the pedals and the saddle. It’s one of the shortest assemblies I have ever experienced.
Before the first ride, the saddle will need to be adjusted. This is done in two ways. First, on the inside of the bracket where the seat post attaches, you’ll be able to twist a knob and raise the saddle vertically. This allows for a proper riding height. Once set, you’ll notice that behind the seat just below the metal bar, there is another knob. This is used to move the seat horizontally.
Adjusting the bike to your liking is essential. Not only will this provide more comfort, but you’ll reduce the strain on your joints as well.
The bars can also be adjusted, but you won’t be able to adjust the actual angle of the bars; just the height.
Tension can be adjusted manually. There is a dial that provides 36 different tension clicks. The easiest tension is great for anyone who wants to pedal fast. If you want to build muscle, cranking up the tension will provide immense resistance. On the highest setting, you’ll barely be able to move the pedals at all.
Finally, you can begin riding at this point and monitor everything on the built-in screen. The following will be displayed:
- Scan
- Time
- Distance
- Speed
- Calories burned
When pedaling, you’ll quickly notice that the bike is very quiet. The handlebar orientation allows users to bench over on the bars, or sits upright when riding.
Pros
- Durable
- Affordable
- Highly adjustable
- Easy to assemble
Cons
- Handlebar adjustments can be better
- Saddle is a little small for larger riders
- Manual tension dial
Overall, I really enjoyed the ride this bike provides. While I would have loved to see the angle of the handlebars able to be adjusted, it is a minor change that doesn’t cause much of a riding issue. Once the height is adjusted, it is time to just ride and get used to the feel of the bike. The on-board monitor works well and seems to be highly accurate. For an well-built, cheap exercise bike, the Body Sculpture BC4620 is the perfect choice.
